From small to large-scale, inception to delivery, I direct and produce campaigns and projects that anticipate, meet and exceed clients’ expectations, while understanding audiences.

Niccy established Niccy Hallifax Art production in 2012, to provide independent creative directing producing and consultancy services in public art and culture sector.

We deliver  a 360° creative production offer, or help you to produce one. Having delivered some of the world’s largest cultural and theatrical public events across multiple sites both internal and external. These have included, environmental artistic installations and large-scale events and projects. We can also provide strategic and artistic consultancy services that deliver on KPIs for grants and not-for-profit funding models and or commissions.

Our delivery is steered by the two principles of delivering exceptional, high-quality and accessible experiences to the broadest possible audiences and supporting the artists to push boundaries and create the very best artistry.  Whether working with local authorities, national or international cultural partners or artists we are always striving to deliver production quality with the fewest barriers to engagement as well as the surprising and  unusual.

“ART and culture have an amazing ability to transform lives and our thinking about the world we live in. Ultimately engagement in CULTURE makes a real difference to a PLACE, THOUGHT, COMMUNITY and offers an inheritance of wellbeing and pride in its DNA.” Niccy Hallifax

Niccy believes that culture is essential, sparking imagination, cultivating curiosity and bringing enriching communal experiences to our everyday lives.  It is the antidote to boredom; it is astonishment and wonder, contemplation and connection, inspiration and delight.

From creative inception to delivery, I have directed and produced projects, programmes & campaigns that anticipate, meet and exceed clients’ expectations, while understanding audiences. Having opened The O2 back in 2007, been the creative and led for the 2012 Olympics Welcome and victory ceremonies and then been the instrumental part of the City of Culture 2017 in Hull. She played a strategic and creative role in scoping, developing and delivering a broad based programme ranging from the most ambitious ever production by site-specific pieces with Made in hull to opening the New Theatre with the Royal Ballet to the finale that was 25 automotive robots who danced with light and night sky, a commission of by artist studio Jason Bruges and beyond 2019 I have been an Associate and Director for NEWSUBSTANCE Studio to direct SEEMONSTER the largest REUSE installation and a world first.

‘I am proud to project direct and produce cultural projects and events that are recognised for their innovation, artistry and theatricality. The breadth and quality of delivery comes from over 15 years’ experience working across the arts and culture sector: producing festivals; working on strategic programme consultancy; helping to establish and launch multi-arts programmes; and creating and delivering nationally significant cultural projects.

I am interested in the way arts and culture can invoke a response and indeed can shift public perception, revitalise cities and spaces, and promote wellbeing. It can define an area for residents and visitors as well as arts industry personnel. I passionately feel that art of all forms has an important role in our society’s future balance. I have a background in visual art, so understand artists and designers as well as the processes required for the lifetime of a campaign.’

My priority in selecting projects is succinct – based not on the size of a project, or the budget, but the creative challenge that it presents. My creative, strategic and business-focused drive is to ensure that any project delivered by the team, not only meets the project objectives, but goes above and beyond expectations to spellbind audiences.

APPROACH

Creative artistry and professional excellence drive me and ensure I deliver exceptional results. I am often called on, to manage and offer services in projects that require creative solutions to complex challenges, and have worked on strategic programme consultancy for public-facing high-value projects, where reputation and creativity and production values is everything.

TESTIMONIALS

I have had the pleasure of working with Niccy on numerous occasions since we worked for AEG to produce the opening of The 02 Arena in London. Niccy is a creative thinker who has an excellent eye for artistry, detail and project management. Her ability to react quickly and get under the skin of large-scale projects with spectacular results is formidable. She thrives and delivers repeatedly on complex projects, often enacted against challenging timescales and within multi-stakeholder environments.”
Martin Green CBE, CEO & Director of Hull UK City of Culture 2017.

“Niccy was our Project Director for SEE MONSTER, and what a ride it was. The project was one of the most difficult we’ve all worked on and Niccy led from the front everyday. In the toughest moments (and there were many), she had a smile on her face and stood shoulder to shoulder with the team. She works harder than anyone I have ever met and yet always has one eye on the welfare of the wider team. She has been a true asset to the company and the project for the past two years and anyone would be lucky to have her. She also has the best laugh you will ever hear.”
Patrick O'Mahony, Founder & Creative Director, NEWSUBSTANCE

“Niccy has been the dedicated, yet light-hearted driving force behind projects I have worked on with her. She is a true Creative Producer, but with the benefit of having her feet on the ground when it comes to the budget. Apart from having fun delivering some stunning moments for UK City of Culture 2017 in Hull, she has been an inspiring cohort during the London Olympic Ceremonies 2012.”
– Ala Lloyd, Architect and Production Designer

“In delivering SEE MONSTER, Niccy took on an almost impossible brief – to transform a North Sea rig into one of the UK’s largest public artworks in record time. We knew that with the combined brilliance of Niccy as Project Director and the team at NEWSUBSTANCE that this project would be spectacular. As part of UNBOXED Creativity in the UK, Niccy oversaw the delivery of this major creative project, working with local and national partners to realise this ambitious artwork. Throughout, she worked tirelessly to find solutions, innovative and build lasting relationships with the communities of Weston-super-Mare. Her leadership ensured that everyone was focused on achieving the best possible outcomes for the project and with crowds of more than half a million, the results speak for themselves.”
– Phil Batty, Executive Director, UNBOXED: Creativity in the UK

“In the early stages of establishing the Organising Committee for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games we engaged Niccy to provide strategic consultancy on our approach to the Medal Ceremonies and Prize Medal design process. Niccy’s expertise and industry knowledge shaped our approach and provided strong foundations for our future delivery. In this capacity Niccy worked with our team to bring a specialist viewpoint and critical thinking into our process. She was open and generous with her time, and highly collaborative in delivering this consultancy work.”
