Welcome & Victory Ceremonies

Creative Lead & Executive Producer

Welcome & Victory Ceremonies

I had overall accountability for the 805 medal ceremonies and the 197 national Olympic Team Welcome ceremonies, from creation of assets through a design process, to execution.

This required the ability to work within a complex stakeholder environment – including the International Olympic Committee and government departments – and under intense global public scrutiny.

During the London 2012 Games, the 800-strong team delivered all 805 medal Victory Ceremonies seamlessly across 32 venues. Strategic creative planning was critical to this success across all assets and at every stage – from the design of the medals to choreography, ethics and working to best practice policies.

For the 197 Olympic and Paralympic National Team Welcome Ceremonies, this also involved working with institutions such as the National Youth Theatre to establish project parameters and direction.

Thanks for everything Niccy. You did a truly beautiful job for us and should be very proud. Thank you again.” – Lord Paul Deighton, Chief Executive of the London Organising Committee of the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games

“The thought, energy and creativity that went into the presentation was absolutely splendid and I have never seen our athlete delegation so engaged in a flag-raising event. Please extend our thanks to those that created such a fun and festive atmosphere surrounding an important protocol moment for the delegations. Brilliantly done!” – Leslie Gamez, USA International Committee
